Happy girl! We signed the Seattle apartment lease today - moving in on Rob’s birthday (14th)!

I’m going to miss my favorite room of this house, but this house is just too big and this area too lonely. Today we’re doing a second look of an apartment we really like and a first look of another promising apartment; a top floor unit with a view of the needle and the sound. Wish us luck.

Yesterday we spent a good four hours walking all over Capitol hill; walked through at least five apartments. Picture an aparment building with units facing the center courtyard and community garden; lovely hardwood floors, large windows, a lot of light and an open floor plan. I walked in and wanted it on the spot. Unfortunately, the same charming courtyard was a sounding board for the freeway, which was loudly heard from the bedroom. The search continues…

I dig this dress

Love this look from Shopbop (belt & dress, both DVF). Get a similar look by adding a touch of neon to your ensemble with this belt from Asos.

Photos from the adventure, but unfortunately nothing from the scenic route.

STP Adventure (Long ride = long recap)

Two post STP recovery days and I’m still trying to digest the experience. It was exhilarating, from start to finish, and I surprised myself. I knew we would finish, but I didn’t know we could finish as strong as we did. The last 15 mile stretch was so tough. We had been riding 30 miles along the Oregon highway, it was so hot, there were several intense hills, my legs were on fire and I was breathing as deep as I could to relieve them. At that point Rob and I both shut out the pain and finished as strong as we could. There was another large climb and then we arrived in Portland, with about six miles to go. Rob wasn’t holding back and I kept up with him through the stop and go chaos of the last stretch. We were passing people in amazing shape, who seemed to be really good riders. We were standing up for more power, in the highest gear, balls out - adrenaline pumping like crazy. Crossing that finish line was like nothing I’d felt before and I can’t even explain it. I was overwhelmed with joy, delirious, and absolutely exhausted. I couldn’t stop smiling. It was amazing.
